Fishing Camp (August 6,7,8 2018)

This Eli LOVES fishing! Unfortunately for him, his father nor his brothers like to. So when our neighbor's son and his two buddies started a "fishing camp" to teach younger kids how to fish, we signed Eli up. He was in heaven! The first day they went to a little pond close to Utah Lake. They caught lots of blue gills (which have very spiky back fins). The next day they went to the Jordan River close to our bike trail and none of the boys had any luck until it was almost time to call it a day. And then, a young boy pulled in a 5 lb catfish! Man, were they excited. And on the last day, they went to Manilla Pond over in Pleasant Grove and Eli caught 3 rainbow trout. He was about the only boy to catch anything that day. It was a great experience for him and one I think he will always remember.

First day's prize; a bluegill. They always put the fish back in the water

Eli with Benny. (Our neighbor's son who put this together. He lives for fishing.)

Benny holding up the big catfish that Ryder caught (The boy in the white hat). Ryder wasn't sure he wanted to hold it so Benny took over for him. The little boys were quite mesmerized by the whole thing.

Eli was the youngest. I went with them the 2nd and 3rd day so I could take pictures (and to keep an eye on Eli since he's such an active kid).

Eli's rainbow trout. He was so happy about this little fish. Caught them with little pieces of bread.

Benny, helping Eli with getting the trout back into the water.

Last catch for Mr. Eli. I'm sure we will be doing this every summer that Benny offers it.
