Andrew received his mission call to Colombia! This is a picture of all the cousins (the ones who came to dinner) saying goodbye to him. He went into the MTC on the 19th I believe and this was the Saturday before. I know his mom, Carolyn, is a bit worried about Colombia (she actually prayed that he would go anywhere but there). Heavenly Father sure knows how to help us grow! I told my boys about Aunt Carolyn's prayer and Jake said "I sure hope I don't get sent to Hawaii" (wink, wink). We'll see if it works;)

I really do think there is something to that---going where you don't want to go! Tanner doesn't want to go where they eat chicken or fish....he's leaving himself WIDE open to possibilities!
Isn't that something. I hear that a lot. Morgan will go anywhere but doesn't want to go to Idaho so we will see if that comes to pass! I can so relate to Carolyn, Rick doesn't want anywhere in Africa so I hope that doesn't come for her. I don't think he has prayed about it though, just voiced that concern.
i know! as parents you think of all the dangerous places (even here in the u.s.) and just hope they don't get called there. but i know He knows our kids and where they will be most effective and where they will grow the most as well so we will just have to trust Him:)

Yep! I did pray the Lord could send my son anywhere in the world but Colombia! Like He heard a mother's plea and did the exact opposite of what I told Him to do! First, I learned again even I knew it don't counsel the Lord! LOL The day after Andrew's call I received 7 different answers to my prayer which all gave me peace of comfort and knew the Lord is in charge where he sends his missionaries throughout the world! I have this incredible inner peace which gives me comfort every day I don't worry except when I get caught up in my fears other wise I'm feeling pretty normal! John 14: 27.
I had to chukkle at Jake or Brad's remark about Hawaii...never know one of them could end up serving on the Hawaiian Islands its very civilized culture! Once on the Island they'll not want to leave!
