Okay, here's how it all went down! As soon as Dad and his sister, Shirley decided they would take a road trip to visit their brother Clint, ol mother's wheels began to turn!! She called her sons and two son-in-laws, Ethan, and Miss Rachel as well and informed them that she needed them all for the first weekend of September. She had several "projects" in mind for them to do while Dad was away. She wanted boards put across the seams of the ceiling of the carport, pavers laid by the gate of their new fence, pavers laid in front of Dad's flower gardens, the area behind the shed cleaned out with weed-cloth and rock laid down, trim on shed painted and nailed back on. It took the "crew" pretty much all day to accomplish the tasks but they were all good sports and enjoyed their time togther. The cousins played and made rafts and their own projects. It was a great day!! I tried to take some before and after shots but of course I have put them on here backwards!

Love that picture of dave and dean under the carport with the board looking like "what the heck?" I see Dennis took that project over. You guys are so great to do that for them. I am sure Dad appreciated it so much. When you get in your 70's you can no longer do all the things you would like!! It all looks good and I love the fence.
I had no idea all these projects were in the works...the first I heard of them was when I was talking to Dad after he got back and he was telling me all that was done. I'm sure that was a relief! I told him maybe he should go away more often! Looks like it was a great family project...
